Kamal Bahrin Ahmad is the MD/CEO of PETRONAS Melaka Refinery. He has close to 30 years of Oil and Gas experience mainly in the downstream manufacturing business and project management.
He joined PETRONAS in July 1987 as a Project Engineer for an expansion project of PETRONAS Terengganu Refinery. He later involved in the commissioning and operation of both phase 1 and phase 2 of Melaka refinery where the latter used to be a joint venture with Phillip66 (Conoco and Statoil initially).
Kamal Bahrin Ahmad has held several key positions in various businesses across PETRONAS; Upstream, Downstream and Corporate, domestic and international. He has 3 years stint in South Africa heading Engen refinery.
Kamal Bahrin Ahmad holds a Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Texas at Austin, USA.
He was once awarded with the PETRONAS HSE Personality (Management Category). He sit in the refinery board, Sungai Udang Port, the new Pengerang Refinery Cracker and PETRONAS Trading Company (PETCO). He is a member of University Technical PETRONAS (UTP) Student Development Advisory Council.
He is married with one son and enjoys watching sports and sight-seeing.
Dr. Steve Matza has over 39 years of experience in industrial chemistry. He earned his bachelor of science from SMU and his doctorate from Purdue’s prestigious Analytical Chemistry program. Matza interned at NASA and spent many years at Shell as a Research Chemist, Senior Process Chemist, and Corrosion Specialist before he joined ZymeFlow Decon. He holds 9 patents and has several published papers. In his current role, Matza is responsible for research and development, product recommendations, technical support, and exploring new application areas. Matza has also been instrumental in the development and introduction of several new chemistries to the ZymeFlow Decon Technology product line.
