Shell Global Technology Licensing
Paul has over 28 years of multinational experience in the refining and petrochemicals sector, and is currently responsible for Shell’s global technology licensing organisation.
He has held a wide variety of technical, commercial and strategic roles in Shell. Before taking up his current post, Paul was President of Shell Chemicals Arabia and Director of the Board of SADAF, a 50:50 joint venture between Shell and SABIC in Saudi Arabia. Before that, he was based in the UK as the manager of a major commercial change project. Paul has also been Shell Chemicals’ styrene monomer global general manager, ethylene sales director and propylene sales director. In addition, he has held technology and operations roles at Shell’s Pernis refinery in the Netherlands.
Paul joined Shell in 1990 after completing a master’s degree in chemistry and business economics at the Leiden University in the Netherlands. He also has a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Twente.
Paul was also a mentor with the UAE-based non-profit organisation INJAZ, which connects corporate volunteers to 11–24-year-old students to help prepare and inspire them for the professional world.
