PhD Licensing Manager Catalysts & Licensing Global Business
Dr. Fengrong Chen is the Licensing Manager for ExxonMobil Catalysts and Licensing business based in Spring, Texas in the USA.
Fengrong received BS/MS/PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering from Tianjin University (Tianjin, China) between 1985 and 1995. Then, he gained 6 years of experience in Research and Development, Teaching, and Consulting from Tsinghua University (Beijing, China) and UMASS-Amherst (MA, USA) after he moved to the USA in 1997.
In 2001, Fengrong joined BASF Corporation (MI, USA) as a Senior Research Staff, has progressed through positions of increasing responsibility in Petrochemical Process Simulation and Improvement, Chemical Plant Supply Chain Optimization, Product Cost Structure Analysis, Strategic Marketing Tool Development, etc. In 2005, BASF sponsored him to attend the MBA program at University of Michigan-Dearborn (MI, USA).
In 2006, Fengrong joined ExxonMobil Research and Engineering (EMRE) as a Process Engineering Associate, the has held various leadership positions in Refining Processes Design and Simulation, Refinery Operations and Improvements, Worldwide Licensing Project Engineering, Chemicals Strategy Study, Project Management etc. before the appointment to the current sales position in 2016.
Fengrong is married with two children (one girl and one boy), and enjoys spending time with his family on traveling and doing some sports (tennis and golf).
